Can you share 5 changes that need to be made to improve the overall US healthcare system? Please share a story or example for each.
  1. Transparency is the number one issue that can improve healthcare. Virtually no one knows how much healthcare costs and what they are going to pay. We are trying to tackle this with several solutions such as a real-time benefit check at point-of-care.
  2. Access to healthcare is another area that can be greatly improved. Only a very small portion of our population has access to real healthcare. Adherence and compliance drive improved outcomes and ultimately reduce the cost burden on both the patient and the system. If we don’t have adherence and compliance, we have to keep running the same patient through the most expensive cycle in our healthcare continuum, the emergency room. That is a massive driver of the cost that can be reduced.
  3. Accurate and better reporting can also improve the U.S. healthcare system. We need standard definitions of what healthcare outcomes should look like and clinical and societal benchmarks that we can truly measure by and standardize. COVID taught us that we have gaping holes in our data integrity and subsequently our ability to react appropriately.
