Our Culture of Giving: OptimizeRx Supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

Continuing our tradition of supporting pressing causes that impact health, OptimizeRx joined with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to raise funds at the New York City Half Marathon, which took place on March 19, 2023. AFSP shares our dedication to providing access to healthcare by helping to reach those in need with innovative solutions.

Suicide is a complex problem that AFSP works diligently on many fronts to address. This issue touches tens of thousands of lives every year and knows no geographic or age boundaries.

Five OptimizeRx runners, Ed Stelmakh, Will Febbo, Angelo Campano, Amy Lamp, and Tessa Waters took to the streets of New York for the race as part of the AFSP team. Each team member shared in raising funds for the organization, with a group goal of $7,500. By the day of the event, the OptimizeRx runners smashed through their goal, raising $8,316.

“Running has helped me through some of the lowest points in my life,” said Tessa. “I’m honored to be running and fundraising for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to support mental health research, education, advocacy, and assistance for those affected by suicide.”
