Senior Director of Sales


OptimizeRx is a digital health company that provides communications solutions for life science companies, physicians and patients. Connecting over half of healthcare providers in the U.S. and millions of patients through a proprietary network, the OptimizeRx digital health platform helps patients afford and stay on medications. The platform unlocks new patient and physician touch-points for life science companies along the patient journey, from point-of-care, to retail pharmacy, through mobile patient engagement.

As Senior Director of Sales your primary responsibility is to develop and grow relationships within assigned pharmaceutical manufacturer accounts for the Patient Engagement segment of business. This role focuses on connecting with brand consumer marketers, multi-channel and digital channel marketers, patient support services and marketing operations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain long term relationships with existing and potential pharmaceutical accounts
  • Prospect and develop new business relationships, creating a pipeline of targeted sales prospects through inbound and outbound cold calling and networking
  • Act as primary contact for assigned accounts and product lines, ensuring all day-to-day needs are met
  • Identify each client’s purchase process including budget, decision making, contracts and MLR review process
  • Partner with internal teams to review go-to-market strategy for each account
  • Deliver sales presentations either in person of via video conference
  • Maintain open communication with client on program status, implementation, proposals, and account details
  • Act as liaison between internal departments and clients throughout the sales cycle
  • Present formal proposal and statement of work documents to clients
  • Conduct regular territory and account business reviews
  • Maintain all account activity in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of Business-to-Business sales experience, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotechnology fields
  • 5 years’ experience in account management with pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturers
  • Experience with enterprise SaaS and Service sales models, preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Experience with CRM applications, HubSpot preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel within territory
