I've Got a Toothache

(HealthDay News) -- If your tooth is throbbing in pain for a long period, or you feel shooting pain when you bite down, this could indicate a problem tooth or something more serious.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine says a toothache could be caused by:

  • Tooth decay and/or a cavity.
  • An abscess.
  • Sinusitis.
  • An earache.
  • An injury to the mouth or jaw.
  • A heart attack, which may also be accompanied by pain in the neck or jaw.
