The American Academy of Family Physicians says the following risk factors increase your risk of having a subsequent heart attack:
- Lack of exercise
- Excessive alcohol consumption
- Being overweight
- Having high cholesterol or high blood pressure
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Smoking
- Too much stress
